Glazed steatite head of Ptah Glazed steatite head of Ptah
The broad serene face is delicately carved with slightly smiling lips and wide eyes with raised lids, extended eye-lines and eyebrows. He wears a beard and a close-fitting skullcap revealing his large ears. An iridescent green glaze covers the carved surface. An old label at the back of the head reads, 'ction C. D. Kelekian, No. 50.' Mounted on a stamped Inagaki base.
