Viking bronze 'tortoise' brooch Viking bronze 'tortoise' brooch Of domed oval form, the rim curving outwards, the outer surface divided into separate areas with two lozenge shaped fields flanking the central point which, along with eight other points, has a small hole for the attachment for other elements now missing. The surface is richly decorated with intertwined patterning containing animal/gripping motifs.
