Greek bronze vessel spout Greek bronze vessel spout
In the form of a head of Herakles with a thick beard arranged in neat spiral cones. A long moustache frames full lips and rows of short incised dashes indicate the eyebrows and lashes. The tall headdress or coiffure forms the spout, the other side of which is the head of his lion skin.

Marble head of a god
Turned slightly to the right he gazes out serenely from under a prominent brow, his eyes heavily lidded and unarticulated. A rolled diadem crowns his thick hair whilst a thick beard with traces of red pigment and long moustaches frame his mouth, lips slightly parted. Possibly representing Jupiter.
Roman. c. 1st century AD
