Greek aryballos in the form of an owl Greek aryballos in the form of an owl
Standing on two large feet, the underneath painted with orange-red wavy lines representing its plumage. Similarly coloured feathers are outlined to the breast whilst darker painted feathers can be seen to the wings which are held close to the back. Two large eyes in painted relief flank the short beak, and a hole in the head allows access. A short loop on the back allows the vessel to be suspended.
