Thomas Houseago: Death’s Sacred Mirror
4 June - 19 September 2026
Rupert Wace is pleased to collaborate with Lévy Gorvy Dayan on Thomas Houseago: Death’s Sacred Mirror, on view in London from 4 June to 19 September 2026.
Conceived by Houseago as a contemporary cabinet of curiosities, the exhibition brings together new works by the artist with antiquities and twentieth-century sculpture that have informed his understanding of form, ritual, and material presence. Ancient art from Egypt, the Classical world, Europe and Mesoamerica, are displayed with works by Joseph Beuys, Louise Bourgeois, Lucio Fontana, and Marisa Merz, revealing unexpected connections across millennia of sculptural practice.
Over twenty antiquities from Rupert Wace will be included in the exhibition, which are available for sale through Lévy Gorvy Dayan, among them an Aztec obsidian divining mirror dating to c.1200 AD, a Cycladic marble idol attributed to the Bent Sculptor, Egyptian funerary objects, and this powerful Celtic limestone bust.
