Egyptian flint bracelet

Early Dynastic Period, 1st-2nd Dynasty, 2972-2647 BC

Diameter: 6.2 cm

The bangle of dark tan flint, rounded on the exterior, the interior flatter with evidence of work. Old collection inscription in black ink on the inside: 'ABYDOS, EGYPT/IF. WE.9.X. I DYN.(FLINT)'. Condition: cracked through in one place only. Literature: A similar example is in the collection of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, New York (acc. no. 23.2.14).

Provenance: Reputedly from Abydos.
