Please visit us at Stand F12 to view one of our fair highlights: this exceptionally rare bronze depiction of the goddess Bastet in feline form.

Lying in alert repose with an air of watchful serenity, the sculpture powerfully evokes the goddess Bastet’s roles as protector, guarantor of fertility, and guardian of the home.

Acquired in the 1960s or earlier by the noted antiquities collectors Erich Maria Remarque (1898–1970) and his wife, Paulette Goddard (1910–1990), this is a highly unusual and exceptional sculpture unparalleled for its quality and beauty.

Also on display will be three varied collections: an assemblage of Cycladic works of art, a group of Egyptian vases from the Pre-Dyanastic and Early Dynastic periods, and a selection of pieces from the Barrow Collection of Celtic art.
