Pencil and watercolour study of Karnak from the sketchbook, 'Sketches in the East', of 'J.D.T', an as yet unidentified English watercolour artist. A view from the back of the complex of Karnak, the largest ancient religious site in the world. Construction of the temples began in the Middle Kingdom and continued through to the Ptolemaic period. Titled 'Karnak' and dated '25 January 1862' bottom left corner.
